Cultural Show

This term we have been looking at different cultures.   For the last 3 weeks we have been learning a traditional dance from the Māori culture and the Samoan Culture.  The year 5's performed a Sasa, the year 4 & 6 boys performed a Hākā and the year 4 & 6 girls performed Tī Rākau.
We were very proud of all the children who all contributed to this performance.  A big thanks to Miss Bell for all her hard work.

Film Festival

This Term Ako Ngatahi having been Learning about the process of making a movie and creating their own movie.  The children could create a movie about a topic that they were interested in or passionate about.  Once the planning was complete, they wrote scripts, created story boars, rehearsed then began filming.  Once filming was complete they uploaded their movies to iMovie and edited it.

As you will see we have a few potential Peter Jackson's in our class.  This is a great example of Learn, Create, Share.

I hope you enjoy these films.

Dreaming of the beach!

Happy birthday to Tehya! Check out this amazing cake that was made specially for her. Yummy! We look forward to helping Tehya eat it!

100% turn out!!!

Yesterday was the first day/evening of learning conferences for Term 2 and so far they have been a huge success! So far we have had everybody who has been booked turn up which is very exciting. The children have been working really hard on a presentation of their learning goals and finding evidence as to whether they have achieved their goals or are still working towards them. We were very proud of how the children presented their work too.
