Today we say a sad farewell to Steph who is moving to Australia. Steph has been a really valuable part of our school. Not only does she look after things in the office but she looks after us when we're hurt, helps the teachers to do their jobs and organises their much needed coffees! Mr Scott and Miss Weaver are a bit worried how we'll cope! So a special thank you, good bye and best wishes to you Steph. We will all miss you heaps!

Olympia Gym
For the next 5 weeks some of our Year 4s are going to be attending Olympia Gym sessions at Hei Hei community hall. We had a very cool first session and were trying hard to perform the skills to our personal best.
Buddy class time
This term we are going to be spending time with a buddy class. Ako Ngatahi had their first session getting to know the children from the Learning Room (Rooms 6, 7 and 8). We are looking forward to getting to know our buddies more and helping them with their learning.

Vocabulary bingo
This week we learnt a new game called vocabulary bingo. It's just like the original bingo but with interesting words. The caller then reads out the definition of the word and we have to find the word that matches it. It's a great way to get us thinking about what words mean.

Game on!
This term we are focusing on sport. To start our topic off we have been brainstorming what sport is. Then we split into groups to think about the following questions...
What are some traditions in sport?
What makes sport enjoyable?
What makes a champion?
Why do people play sport?
We are now creating slides shows to share our thoughts.
Kortney, Hope and Addyson have thought of some awesome ideas.

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great start to your break. I've been busy doing lots of jobs I've been meaning to do for ages like cleaning out the pantry and today I even made soup! Now I'm sitting back enjoying watching the All Blacks vs Samoa which is perfect on such a cold day. I would love to hear what you guys have been up to. Keep warm and safe
